The Giving to the Needies Mission International, says it will, as a way of stemming rising tides of social deviation, take career development and mentorship workshops to schools in Nigeria.
GINMI, Director of Programs, Hajia Rahmat Abdulmalik gave the hint in a chat with journalists recently.
He observed that for too long, students no longer see education as a route to a secure future, but unfortunately toe the illicit routes to wealth and zero consideration of its implications.
Abdulmalik further attributed the cold feet developed by students to parental negligence, and easy access to the internet where cybercrimes are committed.
“The Giving to the Needies Mission will launch a program across the six geopolitical zones in the country.
“This program comes under the series, Career Development and Mentorship. The program seeks to return our pupils, secondary school students and undergraduates to the path of educational excellence.
“Yes back, the decadence we have now, was not like this. And you can bear me witness there is a moral drift.
“If we don’t rise to the occasion of collectively stemming this hydra-headed problem, the future is uncertain for the unborn Nigerian children within the next 100 years.
“And so what we have resolved to do is hold this program in the Northeast, and North Central in the first phase, then subsequently, other geopolitical regions will follow”, she said.
The Giving to the Needies Mission, according to him bridges the gap in human capital development and has done marvellously in living up to its ethos.
