Okwata Ndiechi is a forgotten community in Izziland, no government presence, laments GINMI, begs Gov Nwifuru to intervene

The Giving to the Needies Mission Int’l, GINMI has described Okwata Village in Ndiechi Autonomous Community Izzi LGA of Ebonyi State as a “forgotten community without government presence of any kind”.

GINMI made the revelation Friday during one of its humanitarian mission to the sleepy agrarian community.

The organisation bemoaned successive administrations of the State for what it called ” a deliberate gang up against the good people of Okwata Ndiechi”.

Detailing their sad experiences during the social works voyage to Okwata, Pharmacist David Nwakpu, the Coordinator of Medical Outreaches Department of GINMI related “our car got stucked severally.

“The community does not have any access road.

“When we got stucked, we saw some men making heaps. We approached them and they assisted us in getting the car out of the waterlogged spot.

“After the event, we left our car there because there was no sun that day”.

He stated that the economic value of the community is undermined by the government.

“In this village, we produce a lot of foods, a lot of agricultural produce and its value chains are produced in this community.

“I am calling on the governor through this medium to please remember us.

“The Governor is our brother, he is our son, he is our father, he is our uncle and he is an Izzi man. Let him remember us.

“This particular community has 5 markets and is of great economic importance to the state and the well-being of our people.

“We have Allibaruhu Market that is very big, We have Oferekpe

“Market which is very big, We have Okwata market which is also a major Market, we have Ochafu, Achacha market and more.

“These markets are major markets which have palm oils, rice, yams, Cassava tubers and Garri and other Agricultural products.

“Unfortunately, because there is no access roads and Electricity, these agricultural produces waste in this community”.

“The administration of His Excellency, Hon. Ogbonna Nwifuru is our beacon of hope and we urge him to rescue us now before we perish”.
